Backtracking from the government – but we’re getting a speech from Ramaphosa tonight
Well, it’s no secret that every South African wants to know one thing at this point – and that’s to find out if there will be an extension on the nationwide lockdown or not.
The lockdown, although it has helped curb the spread of the virus, has also dramatically changed our lives. While we’re thankful, it’s also a tough situation — one for Cyril Ramaphosa too.
Some South Africans have been stripped of their jobs and income. Schools have been closed and luxuries and privileges we once enjoyed are no longer. The biggest sacrifice of all, we can’t leave our houses unless absolutely necessary.
Cyril Ramaphosa’s nationwide address on Thursday at 16:00, which Diko confirmed to be a rumour, seemed to have surfaced out of pure desperation for answers. And yet, after the president’s own office went out their way to deny an address was taking place, they performed an abrupt u-turn this evening.
