It is unusual for a striker to wish his enemy well but Judas Moseamedi has expressed his wish for a Kaizer Chiefs win over Orlando Pirates in a Soweto Derby game.
The match will take place at FNB Stadium, Nasrec, on Saturday at 3.30 pm. Mosesamedi, the striker of Maritzburg United.
Yesterday, Mosesamadi revealed that he had grown to be a strong Pirates supporter but his heart is with Amakhosi, he wants Chiefs to defeat Orlando Pirates. Chiefs’ three-point win would make it possible to open the gap with Mamelodi Sundowns.
“I will be supporting Chiefs because they have worked hard for them to be where they are. I think it’s worth winning the league because they play so well this season, ”said Mosesamadi.
“I grew up following Orlando Pirates but you know the job is a job. If I am on the field I have to work for a team because it has given me an opportunity when nobody wants me, they believe in me and they say I will not play here. As I always do for other teams, when I face Chiefs I try to work hard again to score or build a colleague. It is very likely that when I play with Chiefs I become very strong. ”
Moses was included in a team of 78 players to be selected for the Under 23 squad to represent South Africa at the July Olympics in Tokyo, Japan. Coach David Notoane is due to submit to Fifa a squad of 22 players in early July.
“The selection is a good thing. It shows that I’m doing something good and that people can see that as my national team coach.
“I hope it will inspire me to increase my hard work to be nominated for the Olympics.
Attending the Olympics can be a big deal because in the past I had to go but I was not appointed but I continued to work hard in the hope that the opportunity would arise, ”said Mosesamadi.
