Top news anchor Samkelo Maseko fired by eNCA – South Africa’s most-watched news channel –just after EFF conference past weekend. Samkelo announced the statement via Twitter.
“Today my Journey with @eNCA came to an end. Thank you for all those who have contributed to a Journey that started off as a BootCamper in 2014 ,later to return in 2017 as a reporter under @NgiphiweMhlangu. It’s a been good, learned a lot. Thank you Jeremy Maggs for everything.” – Samkelo
He also apologized to his former colleagues for not saying goodbye.
It is not clear why he choose to parted ways with eNCA.

I hope and pray that the news that arguably, leading political reporter in the country, @samkelemaseko parted ways with @eNCA have nothing to do with exploitation of young journalists or editorial interference and differences, as it is a norm in most newsrooms this days.
