The next time you visit Durban, things will look a little different – especially on the beachfront.
On Saturday the city unveiled their brand new promenade, stretching from Blue Lagoon, past uShaka Marine World all the way to the Durban Harbour – eight kilometres long. It’s lauded as the longest promenade in Sub-Saharan Africa.
The promenade expansion – which extended the Golden Mile by 750 metres – is part of a R300 million project linked to the Durban Point Waterfront mega-development. The expansion, which started construction in January 2018, cost just under R400 million.
