DURBAN – Yesterday, police officers from the Provincial Drug and Firearm Unit and K9 Unit conducted an operation in Dundee. The police officers were following up on intelligence with regards to a drug operation in Dundee.
Police proceeded to Lindelani where they searched a premises. Two suspects were arrested after they were found in possession of seven clear plastic packets containing heroin. A large quantity of unused straws, blades used for cutting straws, seven sealed straws of heroin powder, utensils containing heroin residue, 79 mandrax tablets and other implements were seized. The value of the drugs seized is estimated at R90,000-00. Both suspects were charged with dealing in drugs and are expected to appear in the Dundee Magistrate’s Court today.
The police officers also proceeded to the Dundee taxi rank to pursue intelligence on drug dealing activities. An identified suspect was spotted and searched. He was found in possession of 28 pieces of rock cocaine with a street value of R1,400-00. The suspect was arrested and charged for possession of drugs. The officers also proceeded to Smith Street in Dundee where they seized dagga with a street value of R4,000-00.
During an operation at Pongola, police officers followed up on intelligence with regards to drugs at Simdlangentsha. Police arrested three suspects for possession of heroin after they seized 161 straws of heroin from the suspects.
