Ndlovu Youth Choir may not have walked away with the grand prize at America’s Got Talent, but they’ve certainly piqued interest from the music industry’s bigwigs.
The choir’s fairytale run on the popular reality show came to an end last week when California’s Kodi Lee was crowned the season 14 winner.
However, all is not lost for the choresters. Music mogul and America’s Got Talent judge Simon Cowell was sufficiently blown away by their performance to offer them a deal.
Choir director Ralf Schmitt told Radio 702 that they had been offered a deal from Cowell, who signed Westlife and One Direction in the past.
“We are very excited that Simon Cowell and his company have exercised their option to sign the choir and together with Sony Music in South Africa are working on exciting projects,” said Schmitt.
“It is a wonderful compliment to these young people because he wouldn’t do that if he didn’t think there is a future for them and the work they have done.”
